The biggest chip you can buy from a retail perspective.  We have personally tested and installed this chip on Ubuntu 14.04 and 16.04 and it works great.  We looked at this chip for some machine learning processes where the CPU on a public cloud server was a bottle neck.  The CPU was no longer a bottle neck after building a machine with this CPU.  It's not just the fact that there are 16 cores;  the "Zen Core Architecture" is also helping reduce the overhead of running parallel threads.  There were a lot of issues in the message forums when it was first released, but we did not experience any.  Key disclaimer for certain buyers though:  we do not overclock and we did not test it from a gamer's perspective.  However, the performance should be just the same as for gaming.
